The project in Fiji supports local communities to protect their ancient forests from a strong external pressure to deforestation from multinational companies.

The forest is essential to reduce their vulnerability from more hurricanes, while giving a range of ecosystem services that have conserved biodiversity and a natural purification of drinking water.

The project is certified and verified under the Plan Vivo standard that places demands on climate benefit, ecosystem services and social sustainability.

It is part of a program that has developed the first climate compensation projects in the Pacific.

There are several islands in the Pacific that run the risk of disappearing sea ​​level is raised (five of the Solomon Islands disappeared in 2016).
